I love my partner but our relationship started rocky at the tail end of my last relationship. Submitted by ACID_pixel to Screenwriting Ģ023.03.05 16:11 ThePoopPirate *sigh* am I good? Do I deserve to be happy? I don't know. To any comedy writers on the subreddit, how did you find your characters goodies? How did you come up with the funny and wacky situations that have some layered punchlines and even potential symbolism? I admire that quality and would love to know your inspirations and suggestions. It took me almost three weeks to settle on some sort of visual style to picture the characters being filmed in so that I could start to logistically plot out joke structures and situational humor, but I can’t even figure out what to make the characters say.Īnd to that end, I can’t even figure out where to start my punchlines. I’m hoping to use those dramatic elements to explore some deeper themes on religious upbringing and identity, among others.Īll of that brings me to the final problem, I don’t understand how to write comedy. It helps that the base idea was just a base narrative drama. Under the surface, it will draw obvious comparisons to a lot of recent comedies, ‘The Good Place’, ‘Bojack Horseman’, and others, in which the comedy is center stage, but the dramatic elements seep through, and at a certain point, become a tool within the shows toolbox. I ended up reworking a story I wrote about eight years ago, taking what was a long loose novel I guess, and spinning a lot of its story beats into a half hour sitcom idea about a group of twenty somethings navigating their early college years. If any part of this post catches your eye send a message with an intro about yourself! I'd love to talk and get to know someone before working up to talking on a call and playing or watching something together! Currently working on losing weight as well! Also I am short (5"4') so sorry if that is a dealbreaker! I didn't really stand a chance with my genetics on that one. Physically I am white with brown hair, eyes, and a beard. I love animals in general but I love the companionship of a dog. I'm currently living with family while I am saving up to buy a house at some point. I'm also a big foodie and love to cook and try new restaurants. I'm working a 9 - 5 Monday to Friday in a software / IT related job currently. I also watch anime too! Some of my favorites are Jujutsu Kaisen, Hunter x Hunter, and Stein's Gate. Bojack Horseman, Arrested Development, Community are some of my favorite shows. I like watching shows curled up on the couch too. I play a lot of different games, and I'm always looking for new things too! I have been wanting to play an MMO but have someone to play with! Overall I'm very carefree and you can usually find me playing games on pc after work. I'm looking for another person with similar interests to hopefully get to know and spend time with! Bear with me because I am awful at intros like these. I'm a huge nerd and I'm filled with social awkwardness. Hi there! I have been told I am the poster child for the INTP personality.
